What is the CPD Annual Update Manual?

IOB produces a CPD Annual Update Manual each year for retail financial advisers (QFAs and APAs). The manual is released at the beginning of the academic year - normally around August/September.

Reading and assimilating the Annual Update Manual awards CPD hours towards the relevant CPD designations, and an IOB reference code is included within the opening pages for you to record this on your log.

As the manual contains some material of relevance to PIPs the ISI has awarded 1 CPD hour to PIPs for reading and assimilating the relevant sections i.e. the Debt Management Services chapter and relevant sections in the Housing Loans chapter.

The Annual Update Manual can be found via IOB Learn each year.

In the manual you need to click Mark as done on each section and then the declaration to be awarded the CPD hours

This year, the manual counts for CPD hours for the following designations:

  • QFA / APA – 4 hours (relevant to all categories except ethics)

  • Accredited Funds Professional – 1 hour

  • Certified Bank Director – 1 hour

  • Certified Investment Fund Director – 1 hour

  • Chartered Banker – 1 hour

  • MCI Board Member or Equivalent – 2 hours

  • Personal Insolvency Practitioner – 2 hours

  • Professional Banker – 1 hour

  • Retirement Planning Professional – 2 hours

  • Regulatory Reporting Professional – 1 hour

  • Registered Stockbroker – 4 hours

  • Wealth Management Professional – 2 hours

  • Accredited Professional Pension Trustee – 2 hours total (1 hour for Trusteeship, 2 hours for Savings & Investments and 2 hours for Pensions categories)

  • Certified Fintech Risk and Compliance Professional – 3 hours

  • Certified Sustainable Finance Compliance Professional – 3 hours

  • FCI Compliance – 4 hours

  • LCI – 4 hours.
