Every CPD member is obliged to complete the same amount of CPD hours, irrespective of the area of business or the industry in which they are employed, or the number of product categories they are accredited (QFA, APA designated or grandfathered) in.

The annual requirement is 15 hours (unless additional shortfall (‘catch-up’) hours are required, or a pro-rata adjustment has been applied). CPD members must complete at least one hour of CPD each year relevant to each category of product in which they are accredited (QFA, APA designated or grandfathered).

CPD members must also complete at least one hour of CPD each year which relates to ethics. Where a CPD event/course is relevant to more than one category, a person completing such a course/event will be deemed to have met the requirement in respect of each category

**Please note for newly designated APA or QFA designates, you will have an annual requirement of 15 CPD hours starting from the following year. For the year that your QFA or APA designation begins, however, your CPD requirement is to read and assimilate the Annual Update Manual which will be available in September in your CPD section in IOB Learn. You will not be required to record this on your CPD log this year but if read it in future years you can claim 4 hours for reading it by using the code given within the document.
